Frequently Asked Questions
eICare is an online care coordination tool used by community-based organizations. It allows users to manage caseloads, build and complete assessments, collaborate across multiple programs, run reports, visualize data, and more. eICare also offers data warehousing and data visualization tools to larger provider networks.
eICare is currently used by Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), Medicaid Care Coordination programs, Behavioral Health providers for substance use and mental health treatment, community-based HIV testing and outreach programs, and reentry/vocational programs. In addition, eICare provides data warehousing solutions to Independent Practice Associations (IPAs) and continues to grow to meet the needs of larger provider networks.
All of eICare’s solutions are informed by the needs and wishes of real social workers and other care providers. eICare was originally developed by Housing Works, a New York-based community health center and social services provider, to address the deficiencies in other care coordination products on the market. Housing Works remains eICare’s largest client and testing ground for innovative new features, and we draw on the expertise of their program leaders in serving Medicaid and other key populations.
Unlike most software providers, eICare gives its users the power to create and modify system content on their own so you don’t need to email us (or pay us!) every time you want to make a change. Tools like our Assessment Builder and Report Builder allow users to design modules with the exact fields they want. And if you want something more sophisticated or never seen before, we can build that too.
We work closely with our clients to help them plan for a smooth, efficient rollout of eICare, leveraging our expertise in project management and user training. We also train superusers at each client who serve as on-site leaders capable of supporting their colleagues in routine requests for help. Last but not least, we provide a ticketing system for users to report bugs or request a higher level of support.
Yes! eICare meets all requirements surrounding HIPPA and ePHI (electronic protected health information). We are also certified by the federal ONC Health IT Certification Program, which is the gold standard for electronic medical records and similar software.
eICare is based in New York City and capable of serving clients remotely throughout the United States. Since New York is our home base, we have particular expertise in meeting the requirements of New York State government-funded programs, such as Health Home, OASAS substance use treatment, OMH mental health care, and more.
